Overview

Armed with eight sharp edges this shark has some serious bite. The crisp and very predictable response will give big hitters exceptional control, especially on faster swings. Players who like hitting heavy topspin, penetrating slices and big kickers need look no further. It offers superior ball pocketing with a comfortably firm finish. As with most Kirschbaum polys, this one is pre-stretched for longer lasting playability. The 1.25mm version has slightly more spin potential and a little less durability than the 1.30mm version.

Comments: Loved it, went with a full poly. It was comfortable and brought a lot of spin to my game and gave me the motive to hit hard since it was controlled. I strung it at 52 lbs on my Volkl V-Feel 10. But after a week (I played for one week straight, around 3-4 hours each day), it went dead and lost tension and control drastically. Balls were going far out and didn't go where it was anticipated, I thought it was me and my form, eventually considering it was the string. It was hurting my knuckles and palm after they went dead. Overall though, it was great when I first had it installed, better if I did a hybrid set up instead of a full.

Comments: I broke my first set while serving, but good strings. I enjoy the topspin.

Comments: I thought these strings had some pop? I found them to be extremely mushy and too low on power. Even strung at 48 lbs, it didn't help. It's been three weeks and I am ready to cut them out. Sorry, just not as good as ProLine 2.

Comments: I ordered this string after having it recommended to me by a few good friends of mine, and I wasn't disappointed. This string bit the ball hard and sent it flying with good RPMs. It felt more lively than the last string I used, which was MSV Focus Hex 17, but the lively feel disappeared after the string got set in the stringbed, which was nice. The only problem I had with this string was that I hammered the edges of the string into round shape after using it everyday for a week. After that, spin decreased, and a few weeks after that I decided to cut it out. Strung in a Yonex VCore Tour F 93 at 55 pounds in both the mains and crosses.

Comments: I exclusively only use this string. The string life is not long. Maybe 4-6 sets, but the playability is excellent. It is well worth it to string more often because I get back that in spin, control, and power.

Comments: Probably the best strings I have ever used. I've tried Tour bite, Hyper G, RPM Blast, Black Widow and none of them compare to what this string has to offer. I had it strung 58 lbs on my Babolat AeroPro Drive. I noticed immediately that the topspin I could generate was no joke. I personally hit big topspin forehands and my shots were either landing on the line or just inside the court. Not only was the spin potential great, but you can actually generate quite a bit of power. I would definitely recommend these strings to anyone out there who enjoys big topspin hitting.

Comments: I strung as a hybrid in my Pure Drive with synthetic gut in the crosses and Spiky Black in the mains. Strung at 58 lbs both ways. At first the strings felt too tight and lacked power but after a couple of sets the spin and control was amazing with very adequate power on full swings. After 6 sets, the tension is still good. Very happy and will continue to use as long as can get on sale.

Comments: Decided to try this string, and I am so happy I did. I strung it low, just to be on the safe side (48 lbs full bed in a Prince O3 White). It is comfortable, it has held tension well (Kirschbaum strings are all pre-stretched at the factory) and I have been able to produce tons of spin. I am getting a reel of this next, and I want to try some of the other offerings from Kirschbaum. Easy to string, good control, average power (polys tend to be low powered) all great attributes, that make me want to try it in some of my other frames.

Comments: Crisp feel and great spin. Comparable to Cyclone. It offers everything you would expect from a low powered, control-oriented co-poly. Will definitely use again! I am a 4.5 baseliner. Strung at 53/51 lbs on a Pure Drive.

Comments: Great string for lots of spin and bite. I strung my Tecnifibre Tfight 295 with this at 57 lbs and it was a bit stiff for me but I really like this string, it chomps on the ball and adds spin like no other. If I get this again, I will be stringing it even lower like in the low 50s.

Comments: I am ordering this again for myself and for my friends. It is low powered but has good control and spin. The most spin that I've gotten from a string.
From:Caesar, 12/13

Comments: Love this string! Lively feel on impact, good bite for spin and excellent control. Relatively low powered, but since I have long and fast swing that provides my own power, this actually works for my advantage. Got to love the four pack deal! I am thnking of getting some more soon.

Comments: I have already ordered more of this string again! Good string, suitable for me, needless to say, good control and spin although low power! Highly recommend! My racquet is the Dunlop Bio 300.

Comments: So good!

Comments: I tried this string for the first time and I was extremly disappointed. This string has no bite, no spin, and the worst control for any other poly I have ever tried in the market. In a total of 4 hours, it lost 4 lbs of tension. I didn't like it for volleys and power as well. I will stick to my Signum Pro Tornado which has great control, spin and decent power. By the way, I strung it on my 2013 Babolat AeroPro Drive at 56 lbs in a full bed.

Comments: This string is incredible! The topspin you get is amazing and it gives great power and control as well. I was playing with ALU Rough, but I will be playing Black Shark going forward.

Comments: I'm a 4.5 Player using the Babolat AeroPro Drive Cortex stung at 55 lbs. I purchased a stringer so I have been able to play around trying different strings, some of which were Big Banger (the worst) and Gamma Zo Verve (didn't like at all). RPM Blast, which was okay but hard on my arm, seemed to lack even more feel than most poly strings. I tried Gosen Sidewinder 17g, which I loved everything about except that it is $13.95 per pack and cannot be purchased in a 660' roll, and Tecnifibre Red Code 18g, which I love just as much as the Sidewinder, comes in a roll and is cheaper. I purchased the Kirschbaum string because of the unbelievable deal (4 packs for 24 dollars) and because the description of the string fits what I look for. I would rate this string as 3rd on the list of ones I have tried. The string was just as powerful as the Sidewinder and Red Code but less spin friendly on serves and groundstrokes. You have to work much harder to generate the same spin. Overall, I would recommend the string. It is definitely better than most strings I have tried so far, especially if you are a player who likes playing with fresh strings. For the price it is a really good choice, but if the Sidewinder came in a roll I would have looked no further. For now, Red Code 18g it is.

Comments: I have strung my AeroPro Drive GT as a full bed at 55 lbs. This string produces a lot of spin! It felt very comfortable as well. The power was good. I really liked the ball pocketing when riping my topspin shots. Plus, my slice serve and kick serve were so great. So far, this is my favorite string for spin. I have tried Gamma Zo Twist, Solinco Tour Bite, MSV Hex, Gosen Poly Comfort, Babolat RPM Blast and Hurricane.

Comments: I bought this string a few weeks ago and I'm very happy I did so. The strings have a better crisp feel and bite to the ball than the Babolat RPM and Signum Pro Tournado. I usually can't put too much spin on my kick serve, but with this string I'm very motivated to hit more kick serves because of great amount of spin I can generate with it. This string really gives more spin to the ball and also great control. I considered myself a tennis player with great ability, continously improving my game with a very strong table tennis background which is helping me a lot in my tennis. In conclusion, I'm very impressed with this string.
