Comments: I've been using Solinco 19 gauge for the past year and really enjoy the spin and comfort. I have used a mini reel of ALU Power once. I liked ALU Power for the first set but didn't really enjoy it after. ALU Power Rough is a little thinner and has more control than ALU Power. A little more feel but not as durable. I broke the rough after 3 hitting sessions. I normally break the Solinco 19 gauge after 1.5 or 2 sessions. The ALU Power lasts much longer. I will stick to ALU Power Rough as long as I can afford it. The feel and control are just superb.

I'd never thought those little grooves/textures would make much difference but they do!! And it has better feel too. Comments: My daughter, who is 13, has been using this for two years. Usually it was good. It lasts about 20 hours or so. But the most recent 5 times (two orders of 10 strings), she broke it in a day or two, after 5 hours. Sometimes the string broke after only couple of hours. Comments: I tried this string after using a couple of multifilaments. Currently my choice of stick is a Dunlop Biomimetic M3.0 and tension is 50 lbs and I can tell you that my game has never been better. It has a unique feel and it grabs the ball really well. Will try Prince Warrior Response 16 next and decide which one is better. However there is one issue and that's the durability, after a few hours the amazing feeling starts to diminish and then it isn't as much fun as it is in the beginning.

Comments: Returning to tournament play after a 10 year layoff (I'm 62 years old). I decided to move into the hybrid string setup. I have Luxilon Rough in the crosses and Tecnifibre X Biphase in the mains. The result is magical -- brought my 4.0 game to a new level and just attained the #1 state ranking in Alabama. I also put the new Luxilon Element in another racquet and had a bit more softness, very nice, but the textured string is a better fit for my game.

Comments: I string my Radical Pro Graphene at 51 lbs. My racquets have lead tape at 3 and 9. The strings routinely break between 1.5 and 2 hours of play. There are notches consistent with heavy use. Has the string quality dropped? This doesn't seem like a common experience.

Comments: I strung my Wilson Blade 104 with this string at 39 pounds. I was really pleased with the feel and performance this string gave me. I tried the string at 42 lbs and felt it was a bit stiff for my taste. I would suggest stringing 18x19 string patterns lower than the 16x19 or 16x18. The feel and comfort will be worth it. Great price right now for 5 sets.

Comments: I decided to try this string after restringing a couple of racquets for a friend. I have my Prince 100 Tour ESP racquets strung at 45 and 48 pounds. I do like a softer feel since I mostly play doubles. I tried this string at 50 pounds last week but found it a little stiff even in these racquets. I am looking forward to getting to hit with them now and see if the lower tension makes enough difference for continued use.

Comments: I had my doubts about this string. The second I went out to the courts, I didn't even take my racquet out of the bag yet and I forgot what doubt even means. First thing is first, the sound generated by this string is amazing. I am in love with the "pock" sound. Whenever I really rev up my forehand instead of sticking to my usual pusher playing style, the pock sound comes. The second best part of this string is the spin that it can hurricane up, like I said I am a pusher so that means I hit some high balls. So the idea is that I can hit the ball as hard as I can upwards and with my semi western grip I whip the ball with an inexplicable amount of topspin, what this string allows me to do is pull that ball back down into the court because of the ridiculous amount of spin. Then I either get a really weak response from my opponent that I usually put away with a slap or the ball comes down with so much velocity and spin that it bounces and goes over the fence as a winner. Another thing I liked about this string is the color, it is a nice faded sky blue color, and it helps me focus when staring at it during a match. This string really complements my counter puncher style game because of the lobs I am able to hit like my opponent just marks out net play as part of their strategy after I hit a few of my signature lobs on them, this lets me rally from behind the baseline to my hearts content without worrying about my opponent trying any funny stuff like volleys. But the one downside to this string would have to be the price. I recommend these to anyone who doesn't have a problem with price. I am a 16s champ in Texas.

Comments: Out of tourneys, but playing for over 30 years, and still recovering from rotator cuff surgery 20 years ago and I needed a racquet/string combo to get me back into the game. My sports shop recommended the Head Prestige Pro with ALU Rough. At 55 years old, I'm at 4.0-4.5 player, and still try to hit serves at 90 mph. Thanks to the combo, I can, with less pain than I imagined. I'm all topspin off both sides, and found the strings forgiving, and as long as my timing is good, I found I could wallop the ball to my heart's content.

Comments: The TW Review is dead accurate with their ratings and review of this string. This string gives massive amounts of spin and great trajectory. The downsides that I didn't like about this string is that it is really stiff and I would recommend not stringing it at too high of a tension. This string produces a great amount of stress on your arm and elbow. I didn't believe people at first when I read the reviews but once I had it strung and after an hour of play I could feel my arm tearing. I wouldn't recommend this string to a person that cannot provide their own power, the TW review is right when they rate power at 60. Comfort is not so great. In the future, I would definitely not string my racquet with this again.

Comments: I hit a lot of heavy top spin and use nothing but the Luxilon ALU Rough string for amazing spin and control. The string is a little "rough" on my elbow but well worth it. My opponents often think my balls are going out only to be disappointed when the ball dips in just before the baseline. With the spin that this string generates, my opponents struggle with my high bouncing balls. I have tried all of the Luxilon strings, and nothing compares to the Aluminum Rough, this is the only string I would use!

Comments: I've been playing with these for 6 months. There's nothing like it! It has exceptional spin, but even better, the control with added topspin has made my power game and risk shots into a consistent deadly game. More balls go in with this string if you play a good topspin game. It turns close shots into "in" shots. Missing the line by 6 inches deep? I'm a firm believer in these strings bringing my game into a consistent force. These strings single-handedly turned my shots into weapons. Also, I have not (nor cannot) break these strings. The downside is tension loss! 2 or 3 best of 3-setters and these things drop out, and so will your game. There's a significant performance loss after 4+ hrs of play for me. I must re-string it to keep my game elevated. If I do not re-string, my game goes down. Be very aware of this, as you will be playing unbelievable tennis then wondering what happened. It's not you! With a fresh set of these, I feel as though there is no shot I cannot go for, and no ball I can't swing out on. It's simply amazing stuff. If you are a competitive player, and always need to be on top of your game, there's no reason not to try these. It's the best thing I did. I was using NXT before, but after a few swings I question why anyone would not try these. Also, I've had no elbow problems. (tension @ 55lbs)

Comments: I recently purchased the Babolat Pure Drive Roddick. I love the frame, and love what it does for my game. I am an aggressive, all court player with a big forehand and serve, and play at the 4.0 level. On my last racquet (Dunlop 300 tour), I strung with a hybrid and liked it a lot. To mix it up and try something different for my new racquet, I did a hybrid of X-One Biphase (at 57 lbs) on the mains and this (Power Rough) on the crosses (at 54 lbs). I got pretty good pop and control butthe texture of the Power Rough sawed right through the Biphase strings in two sessions. I don't recommend using this in a hybrid with a softer multi-filament string. On the advice of others, I went with a full bed of Power Rough at 54 lbs (had not before because I was worried about elbow/shoulder problems) to give it a shot. I got no elbow/shoulder problems but the racquet felt pretty dead and required a lot more effort on my part, with noticeably less feel. Maybe at a lower tension or for someone who is a 4.5-5.0 player who needs a lot more control and is dealing with more pace it would be better, but I went back to my hybrid setup (X-one Biphase/Babolat RPM blast) and it's been great.

Comments: This is the BEST STRING ON THE MARKET HANDS DOWN on the crosses in a hybrid withnatural gut or NXT. This string is so much better than its next best competition. I strung itat 57 lbs in the crosses on my Juice Pro with a variety of strings in the mains. It has great control,power, spin, and feel. However, when I got this strung in the mains I ran in to some armtrouble, but as soon as I went back to having it in the crosses the pain went away. Other thanthat, this is a great string for your crosses, but put something soft in the mains toaccommodate this string. Comments: I bought these strings on the recommendation of a state level player. Best decision ever in terms of strings. I'm around a 5.5 level player. Before I used Wilson Hollow Core Pro 17 and was doing well. These on the mains and Wilson natural gut on the crosses (Wilson's Champion's Choice) at 59 pounds is amazing. Before my kick serve was decent now it literally goes 100 mph and kicks up 6 feet. I know because it got eye level with a 6 foot 4 inch teammate. The topspin on it is crazy and I can almost hit full power with out it going out. Control is above average. My backhand now produces enough topspin to stay in most of the time. Kind of looks like the gut is starting to show hairs after using it for 2 1/2 hours for 2 days so next time I may try a full bed even though my coach doesn't recommend it.

Comments: I bought 5 sets of ALU Rough about a year ago. One setup I had the ALU Rough on the mains at 53 lbs and nylon on the crosses at 50 lbs. The smooth surface of the nylon could not keep the mains from moving around causing some control lost. Another setup I had Topspin 17 on mains at 47 lbs and ALU Rough on crosses at 44 lbs (I started out much higher and kept going lower and lower.) I had so much spin, control, and power with this setup. I could hit the ball so hard that my opponent commented that my shot was laser like. After playing with this setup for a few days, my elbow started to hurt really badly. I ended up returned the 3 sets that I did not use. Recently, I found a new string (poly multifilament Tecnifibre Duramix HD 16), which I really like to use it for the crosses. It feels soft, cheaper, lasts longer but it is not so stretchy like most other premium expensive multifilaments. I decided to try ALU Rough again and bought a reel of it. I had the ALU Rough on the mains at 51 lbs and the Duramix 16 on the crosses at 48 lbs. I have been playing with this setup in the cold weather for 2 days now and I absolutely love it. This setup has all the qualities that tennis players look for: ball bite, control, feel, spin, and power. All the aspects about my tennis game become better noticeably. I also had another setup (BB original 16 at 48 lbs/Duramix 16 at 46 lbs.)This setup might have a little more power and slice easier but it lacks all the other qualities. I absolutely am gonna stick with the ALU Rough/ Tecnifibre duramix 16 setup. I am looking forward to the warm spring weather to see how much better this setup gonna do for my tennis game.

Comments: Bought a Wilson BLX 6.1 Tour and it came strung with Luxilon Alu Rough Mains and Babolat VS Gut Touch Crosses. I'm not sure if it was this hybrid setup specifically but it felt amazing. You can pretty much hit any shot with power, precision and control. The Luxilon was strung very high at 60 lbs so it went dead after about 2 months so I had to change it even though I did not break the strings. My shot just became way too flat and I thought it was my swing mechanics. I'm sure this would play much better at 52/53 lbs. Still you should try this. Currently trying Tecnifibre X-One Biphase Mains/Luxilon Timo 17 Gauges Cross and this is a good combo too.

Comments: I have strung several hundred racquets of different makers with Luxilon Big Banger original, and Luxilon Big banger rough, however, 70% of Luxilon users complain of arm injuries over the gains of using Luxilon. Consequently, I do recommend that if you jump in the Luxilon band wagon to experiment a hybrid or stay away from this string, there are several alternative strings, which will give you the same results without injuring your arm and those you can buy at tenniswarehouse.com, Babolat Hurricane pro, Solinco barbwire, Tourna Poly Big Hitter Blue Rough. These and other strings will give the same results as Luxilon without the risk of injury, in addition, save a few dollars since they are not over priced. Why risk losing to play tennis because an injury.

Comments: Many comments here complain about arms/shoulder hurting. If you've never tried this type of Lux strings, be aware that they are very different from other strings. There are soft strings. There are hard strings. And, then, there are Luxilon stiff-as-a-board strings. Nothing else in the market is quite like them. If you are a tennis enthusiast, you must try ALU Power or Rough simply for experience sake. They are revolutionary. If it is your first time, and you're not a hard hitter, I recommend you try Fluoro 17 on main at mid-2, and Rough 16L on cross at mid-4. This hybrid is easier to appreciate: steady power, insane slice/spin, and the feel is not too shabby. Most people cannot bring themselves to try mid-4 or -5. (Again) ALU Power/Rough are different from other strings. You arms & shoulders will be grateful that you start with mid tension -4/-5 lbs. Hit with it. These strings produce different bounce. Try to get a hang of it. I believe they are more powerful, more consistent (predictable) than all other synthetic strings. If you are a softer hitter, try Ace 18 on main and Fluoro 17 on cross, with both at mid or -1, instead. This combination gives better feel than ALU Power/Rough. OK, now, for people who are familiar with ALU Power --- I cannot feel the supposed extra spin with the Rough version; so, I just stay with plain ALU Power. One fact that escapes many players is that you gain significant spin/slice potential if you just lower your string tension. With lower tension, the ball stays in contact with the strings longer. That gives extra bite. You can do more with the ball. Try dropping your string tension by 2 or 3 lbs. You will be able to tell the difference. OK, a different story: I tried NXT on main and Rough on cross (like Federer except he uses guts instead of NXT). Oh my God! It gives the sweetest sensation ever known to man (ok, just me). But Rough cuts NXT and broke the NXT cleanly in less than an hour of play. Pricey sweetness. Another thing to note: using thinner/softer string on main improves feel and spin --- but reduces durability.

I always had them, then I tried Babolat RPM Blast on my Babolat Aeropro GT and it was great like Luxilon but less power but they died in a week. Luxilon with the same amount play lasted over a month. I would recommend a 50-52 lb tension though and arm problems are mostly due to the stroke you have, not the string.

Comments: I'm 15 and have been playing for many years now. I have to say this string is by far my favorite or just the normal ALU Power. I get so much spin. I dominate the courts. I hybrid this with Wilson NXT 16. With this string I go through my strings in about a month. I will say I did have arm (elbow problems). I'm not sure if it's from the string or from how I hit because to wind up for my forehand I snap my wrist like a curve ball then brush up. But now I'm fine. I haven't had any problems with my arm in awhile.

Comments: I normally don't write feedback for anything, but for this string I had to. This was not just the worst polyester I have ever used; this was the worst string I have ever used, period. I noticed the string to feel very tight right off the bat, which normally I am not to concerned with because I love tight string (I'm using full poly for heavens sake)...but this string is so tight you lose power! I have never had to work so hard at hitting the ball in my life!...The next issue I have with this string is the lack of feel you get with it, I literally never felt the ball off my strings for any kind of shot. Which is fine if you never want to hit a drop shot, slice, lob Ect. but I need a string with some variety. Last but not least, I got arm problems from this string! I have never gotten any arm problems from any other string in my life! Now, realize people...I am 21 years old! A 21-year-old dude should not have arm issues haha. So that's the end of my complaining, I just had to write back about this stuff, it was so incredibly bad. Let me save you some money, buy Luxilon ALU Spin! You get power, feel, control, durability, everything.

Comments: For spin generation, this string is one of the best I have tried. I think it bests the Babolat polys easily in terms of spin. My issue is shoulder problems that developed after playing with this string a couple months. I'd certainly recommend what many do in that you either blend with a synthetic or if you use a full bed, definitely drop the tension a few lbs. I'm going to have to switch to something a little softer and hope I can find something I like as much as the lux!

The downside is it is taking harder to your elbow and wrist. I do get a little bit sore to the wrist after 3 hours w/ "little breaks" tennis. If you have strong arms that not having any injury and good reflex, then I highly recommend this stuff full bed. (Otherwise, Hybrid it if you want it softer) And "DON'T FORGET" to have your racket re-string with at least 5% less tension with this string. (I believe Luxilon suggested 10%)

Comments: I have to say...there's a reason pros use this string a lot. Groundstrokes are very consistent and have a lot of pace in it especially in slices. I like to whip my slices and these strings get me a low, deep traveling ball. Kick serves are where these strings shine. The only problem is that these strings lose their texture after constant hitting. I have a patch of what looks like a poly string in the sweetspot and this really effects the control of the ball. Overall great string and pretty durable too.

Comments: Let me preface this by saying this string is incredible. I was really surprised at how much of a cut you could take at the ball and feel in total control. Spin was good, but control dominated this string. Now let me say ouch! Unfortunately, I had to cut it out as it caused some serious tennis elbow (which I've never experienced before). I've read about proper technique and you shouldn't have a problem, however, after trying BB rough, I know now it's not about technique, but about the string. The string is very stiff (stringing was very wire like) and isn't forgiving on the arm. Great string, too harsh for my arm though. If your arm can tolerate it, you won't be disappointed.

Comments: I'm a 3.5/4.0 player who usually uses the regular Big Banger Power ALU. A buddy of mine put me on to the Rough a few weeks ago and I love it. I get more spin than my previous string and love the feel and control I have with it. I use my tried and true Wilson Triad 4.0 and while technique is always key to getting good spin, IMHO the rough certainly assists. I'm sticking to this string for a a while!

Comments: Don't use this string if you like to put a lot of top spin into your forehand. I have a complete western grip and these strings make the ball hit the net almost all the time. No, it does not bite the ball like it says it would and the tension goes down so quickly. It contributes to tennis elbow too. I recommend using the simple ALU Power. Those are great strings.

Comments: I just switched from Pro Hurricane Tour to this string and all I can say is WOW! I hit a heavy topspin forehand with a completely western grip and I can put WAY more spin on the ball than I could before with PHT. These strings have a very "responsive" feel to them and by that I mean that I can hit with lots of power and depth when I want to while still keeping the ball in play and where I want it and, at the same time, I can hit with a lot of touch at net also. This is a great string for people that hit with spin and it's wayyyyy better than Pro Hurricane Tour. It doesn't move everywhere on your frame and I highly recommend it.

Comments: Tried this as a full setup in my microgel extreme pro. I was not that impressed. The Alu Rough played fairly well, good power, spin, tension maintenance. My main problem with this string is comfort, the string is too stiff. I normally use Signum Pro Tornado 1.23, it is a lot softer, and has better control and spin. This isn't a bad string, I just think there are better choices for the price (i.e. signum pro or msv).

Comments: I use this string on my Dunlop Aerogel 200 at 54 lbs. Lots of power & control.It drops tension for the first few days and seems to stay at about 48-50lbs, I cross it with Prince synthetic gut Duraflex for more feel,and the combination is great!!! NO vibration and nice feel(I don't use dampeners), it seems that the cheap cross string brings out these two strings' value. I can't tell the durability as I'm QUITE sure prince synthetic gut will break first. I am going try BB Alu power as full string-bed,can anyone tells the difference between AP ROUGH and AP(not rough version), especially about SPIN. Thank you! At last, I LOVE THIS STRING!!!

Comments: Amazing string! I cross it with Babolat Xcel Power for comfort and extra pop, at 65 being that these are two exceptionally powerful strings. I personally love having a ton of control though. So along with my high tension I use a Microgel Prestige mid. At first I just practiced by myself on my serve and got zero pop. Extremely disappointed. The next day I played with a teammate and as the day went on I noticed more and more pop. By the end of the day I had massive feel, great spin, control was fantastic. Power, even at 65 lbs was superb. I have found my string combo. I had dropped tennis for almost 8 months and now I feel like taking on a pro. This string racquet combo seems to read my mind.

Comments: Very excellent string. The pop, feel, and spin on this rough version of Luxilon BB Power is just phenomenal. But be careful, stringing this on your entire frame will just be quite stiff. The power on this string is very high, so I only string this in the mains, with Babolat Xcel in the crosses. The softness and control of the Xcel complements the stiffness and power of the Luxilon almost perfectly.

Comments: The best string I've tried so far. I strung a full set at 54lbs on my APDC. My setup on the APDC is 15g on the head and 3g on the throat, so +18g overall. I have a very power-oriented setup and this string complements it. As long as I hit fast enough with proper strokes, I can produce very heavy balls that land deep. I can hit out with this setup without any problems thanks to the amazing spin potential. Serves are great, particularly kick serves. Volleys are fine as long as the racket is held firmly upon contact Comfort is very good as well. Will be sticking with this for some time.

Comments: I strung this string at 52lbs full set on my Wilson K six one tour 90 (love my racquet so much). At first, I prefer the rough version due to easy for spin access. But after a few sessions, I found that the string is amazing. Durability is awesome. Never break (always do aces during serve). Some people say that this string is hard on wrist and not arm friendly. For me, if you swing with proper technique and follow the swing technique by the Pros (follow through concept), I don't see the problem like above. Warning! You must string 10% lower than normal. Previously I used Wilson Sensation 17 at 58lbs and now strung at 52lbs with this string. The string is so responsive. The downside of this string is the price. It's so expensive compares with other Poly in the market. Will choose the cheaper string after the string broke. Probably MSV strings due to its price and positive comments. Overall very impressive strings!

Comments: I just tried this string after using a Babolat APD with synthetic gut strung at 55 lbs. Thy synthetic gut was fine, however, some of the balls flew and occasionally I did not get enough control. After switching to the alu rough, I find increased control and a little bit more spin. But some of the balls still fly on me, but it is okay. Pretty satisfied. By the way, the sound is kind of weird.

Comments: This String Saved My Game! I use a Babloat Aero Pro Drive and was constantly struggling with gut. I either had too much spin or too much pace. After trying this I was hooked. My rallies are easily extended by 4+ shots since switching. The bit off the slice and the kick off my second serve are incredible. The only down side is that miss hits are awful... but that's my fault not the string. I recommend it to anyone trying to improve their consistency... especially on clay.

Comments: I have a Wilson K Blade 98 and I previously had it strung with a hybrid mix of Luxilon ALU Power in the mains, and Tecnifibre in the crosses at 55lbs. I heard about how great the Luxilon ALU Rough was so I gave it a try. Wow, the strings are awesome! I strung them at 55 lbs. Probably will go up to 58 lbs next time. No wrist or forearm pain. I am a 33 year old baseliner. I had so much more spin and control with my ground strokes. Really allows you to go after your shots with more control at next and on serves. Takes a little to get used to, but I love the feel, control, and power.

Comments: Put this on my old school Prince Precision Graphite 640 at 52lbs as I wanted to compare this string to the Pro Hurricane Tour currently on my other stick. All I can say is "wow" ... excellent control, ball bite and surprisingly soft on volleys (could be because of the low tension). I felt I can let loose and rip the ball from both sides knowing that the ball would drop in. Thought the Hurricane Tour was a decent but for me I think this one tops it. Great string overall and definitely will use this going forward.

Comments: Do not use this as your full string-bed; it gets way too much power (53lbs.). String it with a good synthetic like the Wilson NXT series as that is what I am doing. I have a fast string speed and just didn't find the control from this string, but I did find the spin. My serve improved but what is a good serve without good strokes? I should also mention that the string has nice grooves, which equal spin. Overall I give it a 3.5 out of 5.

Comments: There is a comment about this string in a hybrid. it is very much true. The string breaks very fast. I decided to put the string savers in it, and voila .... problem solved. This string is really good. I use it in the mains with the Wilson Enduro Pro in the crosses. But, with the string savers. It is the best combination I have found. I use the Head Radical Pro. I am a 4.5 player who plays at least 3 times per week. But with the string savers inserted the strings do not move nor do they break for over a month now. The tension is exactly the same. I too, do not use the 10% less. I string it normal tension at 59 lbs Main and 63 lbs cross.Control is exceptional and the slice is deadly and the ball keeps in court. Very good string.

Comments: I LOVE THIS STRING! I have been hitting with it for about six months now, and the forehand side is monstrous, and the backhand has gotten better (I think). I really like the energy return that I get from this string, and it really pays me back for playing an aggressive, physical game. The first time I told my stringer that I wanted the ALU Power at 60 lbs, he looked at me like I was nuts. A 13 year old girl using the Luxilon at 60 lbs? But hey, I like the feel feel of it, and it helps add some spin and control to my game. I would recommend this string to anyone without any elbow problems.

Comments: Since I finally bought a stringer a few months ago, I have tried many different types of string in the search for tennis nirvana. One of my favorite string set-ups during my search was LLPR in the mains and gut in the crosses. During my last stringing, I decided to drop the tension ten percent as recommended and use LLPR in the whole string-bed. I was shocked by the difference...at 53 lbs instead of 60 and with the entire bed the spin I got blew my mind. My hitting partner couldn't believe it either. He had to give ground or take the ball on the rise to avoid hitting balls above his shoulder. If you take an aggressive topspin cut at the ball, this string can't be beat. The ball absolutely explodes off the bounce. Slice backhands bite and skid low and drop shots retreat towards the net. Everyone is hybriding this with a softer string on the crosses, but I love it in the whole bed. Not the string for you if you play a touch game or have arm issues. Doesn't bother my arm at all in my Babolat Aero Storm Tour.

Comments: Are you kidding me this string must be illegal. I decided to try the ALU power because of all the pro's using this stuff. Now I can see why. I ordered the rough version because I wanted to add more spin to my game. ALU power has changed my game. I write lefty but play tennis righty. I have a good backhand because I get power from my left hand (dominate hand). Before these string I did not have a forehand (because my right hand was my weaker hand). Now I have a good forehand. This string has so much bite on it, it's truly amazing. With ALU power rough I can hit very hard with out the ball going out. This string will improve a kick second serve because it gives in a ton of extra kick. I tried Luxilon Big Banger XP as my first luxilon string and I was very impressed. I do prefer ALU power rough over XP though. I did string these strings in the full bed. If you are thinking about it its a great idea if your are not committed to going hybrid like me. Great sting, the best I have tried, will continue to use this incredible sting.

Comments: I switched to this string nearly a year ago for two main reasons: this string is one of the most popular on the ATP tour (so there must be a reason) and is known to be very durable. I am very pleased. The durability is definitely excellent. These strings do not move and hold tension well, which results in having very stable and predictable response and good spin potential. Some of my friends had issues with elbows and wrists when using these and other poly strings. I advise them to lower the tension (e.g. for K Factor Six One 16-18, to use the tension between 50 and 54). If it does not help then head to the gym and to spend some time on weight lifting. Or to use other softer strings if the weight lifting is not an option. These strings are objectively rather harsh & stiff and are for the new generation of players who are very physical.

Comments: I am not sure what I am missing with the Lux hype. It's fence wire. If you want wrist inflammation and aggravation of an old RC injury, then this is the string for you. If you want the feel of this string, save yourself the trouble of court time. Just grab a metal fork and repeatedly jab it into a live wall socket for a couple hours. You'll get the same effect. About the only good thing I have to say about this string is that I finally got it cut out of my racket and put it in the garbage where it belongs. I'm a rated 4.0, played in HS so am at least somewhat aware of how to hit the ball. Never again will I do so with this junk in my racket. Now it's 7-10 days of ice and no tennis to let my poor wrist heal.

Comments: I think that ALU Rough is one of the best strings ever! Its spin is awesome. I use it on my Babolat Aero Pro Drive, and the combination of spin and slice is absolutely perfect. Comments: Personally, I do not think the hard hitting Luxilon strings help my strokes at this (inconsistent)stage of my game; however, I string the Power Rough on my future father-in-law's racket and he absolutely loves the extra bite on the ball. I mix the Luxilon (56lbs.) with 16 gauge VS gut(62lbs.) and he hasn't wanted to try anything else for almost a year. He says "The gut really balances out the stiff feel of the mono string and I haven't worried much about my tennis elbow since I changed to this set-up, except of course for the occasional shank!" Playing against him I've noticed that the strings really help him get extra bite on his slice serve and the added spin allows him to go for more on his shots without worry of the ball floating long. If your strokes aren't consistent or you've chosen to be a pusher, then this string isn't for you and will actually do more harm than good!

Comments: I am a former Div-I college player and I have been using Luxilon for 6-7 yrs. I tried TiMo 17 gauge, ALU 16L and find ALU Rough to be the best. All Luxilon strings hold tension well this one seems to produce a little more spin and touch though. I have tried several different things with these strings. A hybrid mix, all ALU in both two-piece and one-piece, they all work well. My favorite is a one-piece strung at 62 lbs. The only drawback is the price but after trying other strings ALUs' combination of playability and durability makes it a better value in the long run. Babolat Pure Drive standard @ 62 lbs.

Comments: Like most other Luxilon Big Banger's strings, the durability is just amazing. I use this as a full set and this has got to be my favorite strings of all time, I've bought this very same string for probably more than 20 times now on TennisWarehouse and I will come back! These last me around 3 months and I play 4-5 times a week for 2-3 hours each time. These strings don't lose tension for me like others have said. However, the little ridges on the string does wear off eventually and I won't be able to put as much spin on it, but it's still hittable. Make sure to use a dampener, like the Pete Sampras one, or else it's going to feel uncomfortable. I would recommend stringing at 58 pounds or below.

Comments: I've used these big banger power roughs on the past few restrings now and when freshly strung they are simply incredible. I get so much more spin and control, and feel as if I can hit the lines every time. With these strings I feel invincible on the court, I can go for all my shots, take huge cuts at the ball and not have to worry about it going out. As soon as you put these strings on you it will instantly better your game, they are match winning strings. The only downside is that this only last about 4-6 hours, after which there is marked decrease in overall performance and they tend to feel more dead. I stringing Luxilon in mains @ 56lbs and VS natural gut17g in crosses @ 58lbs. Also these strings tend to hurt your arm after a while, so I recommend stringing with natural gut or syn gut in crosses. As long as I can afford this these strings I will continue to use and highly recommend you try them as soon as you can, you won't regret it.

These strings are very durable. They also allow you to put that extra 10% into your shots without having to worry about the ball sailing out the back.

Comments: I use this string on both mains/crosses (51/49 lbs) of my Yonex RDS 002 Tour. I like it primarily because the strings don't move, which provides your strokes with a consistent response every time. Whether you hit flat or with spin you will find your game improve as the ball will land in the court more often. I've seen this happen with other players as well who've made the switch. If you're using a hybrid with this string and are considering using ALU Rough for the full stringbed, I would drop tension to be more arm friendly and so your shots don't fall short. Recommended only for those with long fast strokes. Note: I tried ALU Spin 1.27 and didn't feel the same consistency. I prefer ALU Rough 1.25 and will stay with this setup for a long time!

Comments: Really good strings. I can't get too technical because I really don't know much but these strings really let me rip by backhand and pound the flat serve. Sad to say, though, I had to stop using these strings and the other Big Banger ALU Power as they both cause some major tennis elbow for me. It came to the point where I wasn't even able to close my hand and it kept shaking. So hopefully I will be able to find some replacement strings that provide the same feeling but are more forgiving to the elbow.

Comments: This is my preferred string - Luxilon on the Mains 16g @ 55 lbs and Babolat VS Touch gut 16g @ 59 lbs on the crosses. This is an excellent hybrid for heavy hitters using lots of topspin. The control is the best I've seen... but you have to take big cuts at the ball to really see what this can do for you. I have used this combination for about 6 months. My main gripe is that this Luxilon string loses its effectiveness very soon. Practically with every 2 hours of usage, the strings drop a level in crispness and begin to move more and more. The first 2 hours - you feel like you can take on the world. I could not be any happier than during those first 2 hours. Between 2 and 4 hours of usage, they start to move a little bit more but still acceptable with only a slight adjustment to your stroke to compensate. 4 - 6 hours of usage ... I would only use for them practice ralleys, not in a match. After 8 hours forget about it - they are worthless... if you swing hard and hit with heavy topspin. Downright worthless!! They move so much and they actually feel too deadened. Fortunately, I have my own stringing machine so I can keep restringing my rackets as often as I want... usually by the 5th hour of usage. Sometimes if I know I won't use the racket for a couple of weeks because I have a couple of other fresh rackets in the bag, I will string the Luxilon mains 1/2 lb higher - since it is a well known fact that polyester strings lose their tensions faster than regular synthetic or gut.The pros change rackets so often that I believe they rarely have to deal with the declined performance issue after 2 - 4 hours of usage. Like I said, during the first two hours these strings rule! I have become addicted to their initial performance value so much that I am willing to deal with the frequent restringing problem. I must admit, though, restringing my rackets every week is starting to become a drag! If someone can recommend a string that has the performance of Luxilon ALU Power Rough and has a much longer crispness time frame please let us know. Let me re-iterate that my experiences are from a hard hitting, heavy topspin stroke. If you don't have the same kind of stroke, then your longevity might be longer - I don't know. By the way, I tried Hurricane Tour 16g and I also was extremely happy during the first 2 hours. By the 4th hour of usage, using the string also started to deaden - to the point where it slightly hurt my elbow. Don't know if it was due to the string. I might need to try it one more time to say for sure.

Comments: Yes, these strings are as good as everyone says they are and worth every single penny. Many pros are using it to get the added topspin and power out of their shots, and it's also good to have a string that's durable and that won't break on you every other time you get out on the court. There is a downside, however, and that is the lack of feel on some of your shots. If you don't like that deadening feeling than you might want to go with a softer string or better yet combine this with a synthetic or natural gut and get the best of both worlds. You might think this sounds crazy, but I think the roughened areas of the string actually grab on to the hairs of the tennis ball to give it more topspin, run your fingers across the strings and you will feel it scratch at your skin, CRAZY!!!

Comments: I was very impressed with this string, using it in my Head Flexpoint Prestige FXP Team racket, with Babolat Thermogut VS at the crosses. At first hitting I was very impressed. My groundstrokes were incredible and I could take full cuts. The only downside is these strings lose their bite and power and feel after about 30 + hrs of play, and I usually play everyday. I am going to continue this string, but I am considering just playing with all ALU Rough this time instead of Natural Gut in the crosses. If anyone has any comment or feedback on this it would be appreciated.

Comments: These strings are great, not just because everyone else says they are. But from experience they are great. I'm a junior now becoming a senior and I just started using them last season. I've been using the pro hurricane tour 16G on my aero pro drive at 58 but they became to powerful so I wanted more spin strings so I went to the Luxilon strings because a friend said they were good but I didn't use them because he sucked. But I first tried the original big banger roughs at 60 and they were amazing. My balls had more spin and my overall game was more consistent. But then I began to take advantage of it and started to swing faster to try and get more depth. I soon became frustrated with them and moved to the strings Federer uses. I mean if he uses them they must be good. So I used them and strung them at 64 because they were thinner. They were great at first. But once they started losing the tension it was hard to control because of the thin string. But I then started to hybrid it with gamma synthetic guts 16G (the club stringers string) and they were amazing. SO I had Luxilons on the mains and synthetics on the crosses and 62/60 respectively. They were amazing. The tension didn't drop but stayed steady and bearable. I was consistent and they didn't feel like a trampoline. I had lots of control, pace, and could control the depth however I felt like. Long short, I had it. What I'm saying is these strings are awesome. I'm still experimenting on my crosses as I'm going to try the fxps with the luxilons but these are great strings. I use a western grip on a standard aero pro drive and they hardly break. I usually have to cut them out because of the tension loss after a month or two.

Comments: I am a nationally ranked junior player and recently switched to Luxilon Big Banger, 16 gauge. I noticed an immediate change in my game. I already had good topspin but found with the new string my topspin became a lethal weapon as the ball 'jumped' at my opponent causing many errors. I also found that shots that may have typically gone long not only stayed in, but were also nonreturnable. My servers became bigger, volleys were solid... basically my all court game became very solid. I have much more control and confidence and can't wait until my next tournament. I LOVE IT! I wish I had switched sooner.

Comments: I believe this is perhaps one of the best strings on the market. The only problem is if you string the whole racquet with it you may run into some arm problems as others have also noted. Therefore, I use the Luxilon in the mains with natural gut or synthetic gut in the crosses, and the combination is unbeatable for power, control and spin. In addition, it is also reasonably durable. Even heavy hitters who generate lots of topspin, whose racquets I have strung with this combination, usually get about 3 weeks or more of play before the strings break.

Comments: My experience with this string is pretty mixed. I play with the K-Factor Tour using the Luxilon on the mains and natural gut on the crosses. A fresh strung racquet with this combo was absolutely great ... (I usually string the mains with 18g Babolat Pro Hurricane). The Luxilon provided additional spin and control without too much loss of feel. However, after about 2 hours of hitting there was a marked difference in the way the racquet felt and how it performed. I had almost zero feel on my strokes and felt like I had to work incredibly hard to get some pace on the ball. In my opinion this is a great string if you can afford to constantly restring your racquet after every match, but otherwise the drop off in its performance makes its pretty impractical. I would also question the claims people made about this strings durability. While it doesn't move as much as synthetic gut, my string did move a decent amount and was notched 1/3 of the way through after 2 hours. In summary, I have mixed feelings about this string, and still have some preference for the Pro Hurricane 18g

Comments: Let me first say that you must have a solid swing before you use these. That means beginning players who watch the pros with with these "magic strings" and think they can do the same, be warned, it will mess you up. But if you've been playing for a while and have a nice, developed, reliable swing, go for it. These strings are some of the best I've played with. I used to use Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour for my mains and Babolat VS Natural Gut at 60 for my Head Microgel Prestige MP, but when I used Luxilon, I was hooked. What I enjoyed was that since I already have power in my swing, that these strings in fact had no power, so I could swing to my heart's content. Another great thing is that they're textured, so it lets me get insane topspin on my shots. So if you're that type of developed player, definitely give these strings a try. Warning: These strings lose tension incredibly fast, and pros can only afford to restring the Luxilon so many times because they're sponsored.

Comments: This string offers very good power, moderate to high comfort/ good spin, though not as much as 5-star or Power Fluoro. There's also great control, good volleys and not a lot of pace. Bottom line: a power/control-oriented string with solid comfort.

Comments: Crazy great string! I'm a high school player and I think that this is one of the best durability strings out. The playability is also amazing; you can effortlessly hit balls with power and not worry if they will go long. You can really put a lot of spin and pace on your shots. I string it in the mains at 55lbs with prince synthetic multifilament at 58lbs in the crosses. This is the best combination of strings I have found. But probably any other synthetic or natural will work just fine.

Comments: Excellent string that doesn't only allow you to hit hard but also with extreme power very easily. It's extremely durable, gives plenty of control with max power, but if you want to use this string to its full potential with no flaws, then I would recommend using this with Pro Hurricane 16 Tour (Roddick's strings).

Comments: The ALU power ruff 16L is fantastic. I strung it in the mains (59 lbs) with natural gut (57 lbs) in the crosses. I can now hit shots with sharp angle and enough topspin to get the ball in the court. It feels like wire when your stringing it and you can tell by the improved grip on the ball. It's given me probably 50 more topspin on my 1 handed backhand. And maybe 6-12" extra height on topspin serves. I had 6'8" guy hitting service returns above his shoulder. The ball now seems to still be rising when it hits the fence. This is the best I've found.

I tried these strings at 55 lbs and it was amazing, you felt like the ball just going out with so much spin its have to be the best strings for hard hitters that have a lot of spin like I do...Great strings
