Overview

Introducing Luxilon Smart, a technologically advanced co-poly that combines great feel with impressive all-around playability. As with Luxilon's M2 and Element series, this string is built with a variable flex, enabling it to perform optimally across different stroke speeds. On faster swings, Smart is designed to stiffen so as to provide the attacking player with the needed control to ratchet up the power and spin. On slower or more compact strokes, Smart is designed to play softer for better touch and feel. The upshot is a comfortable co-poly that should work very well for a wide range of playing styles.

To optimise performance, Luxilon recommends a tension range of 40-48 lbs.

Comments: I am currently trying this as a hybrid with synthetic gut on the crosses in my Yonex VCORE Pro HD. So far so great. Feels like a very controlled multifilament in many ways. I am coming to net more often nowadays and it gives me a poly or soft hybrid feel from baseline with a multi style feel on the volleys. Strung it at 44 pounds.

Comments: This is a very good string. If you hybrid, you will love this string. In my opinion, comfort was much better than what the TW playtesters thought, I also though it played more lively. The peed is more like a multifilament. It's not the holy grail, but for someone who spent money on gut hybrids, this is a worthy string.

Comments: Great string. I did notice the flex during the 4-5 hours spent hitting with it in my RF97. The feel is pretty unique, being soft, yet maintaining enough of the crispness typical of polyester. Spin is not incredible, and it is lively as well, I strung it at 48 lbs. I would string at more like 52 lbs next time due to the liveliness, but other than that it performs very well in all areas. It's essentially a hybrid string packed into one. This is my new go-to string.

Comments: Impressive variations on feel depending on swing speed. Well dampened and somewhat lively like a good multi with none if the poly criticisms, such as being too harsh on impact.
