Overview

For the player who loves to take big cuts at the ball without having to worry about overhitting Solinco Revolution is a great option. This hexagonally shaped co-polyester offers a lethal combination of spin and precision. As with most polyester strings, we found this one to be very durable, but it also plays a tad softer than the majority of Solinco polys. We recommend this string to be used both on its own or in a hybrid set-up. This 1.20mm version offers more spin but slightly less durability than the 1.30mm version.

Comments: I've played with almost every poly on the market and typically I would agree with TW on strings, but not this time. I typically string polyester strings in the low to mid 60 pound range in an 18x20 string pattern. I would recommend this poly if you are new to polyester strings or are used to playing with soft polys similar to Cyberflash, ALU Power Soft, Tour Bite Soft, or very thing gauges of poly. While it does offer pretty good bite and spin, the string is very powerful for a polyester. I had a hard time keeping the ball in play with full cuts at the ball. If you are looking for a lot of control and precision on a string, or play with a hard flat game, I would look elsewhere. I am a 4.5/5.0 level player, as well as a teaching pro.

Comments: I have played 3 times with Revolution 17 strung at 48 lbs in a Prince Phantom 93P. I found it to be stiffer than Hyper G 17 strung at 48 lbs, which has been my standard set-up for months. Spin potential was better with the Hyper G, though not by much. Overall not a bad string, but I will be going back to Hyper G. I am a 4.0 player who practices 2-3 times a week. I hit hard, with moderate spin on the forehand, mostly slice my backhand and use a lot of kick in my serve.

Comments: Same guy as last time, and I just had to comment about how these strings last! I've been using the same set of these for about 3 months now, about 2-4 hours a day, in 90°F heat. They don't seem to be breaking anytime soon, and still play respectably crisp. If you're on a budget and don't want to re-string too much, definitely recommend this

Comments: I feel like the TO review makes it out to be a stiffer, spin-oriented string. I found it to be a lot softer than expected, while not offering the spin it advertised. Control is good, and I can get groundstrokes where I want them. The touch is excellent, it feels muted while not feeling mushy. There's a certain crispness on purer touch shots, while slice drop-shots feel soft. Strung it in a Wilson Blade 16x19 at 47 lbs. I'm a 4.0 junior player who hits with heavy spin.
