Overview

Introducing the TF40 305 (16x19)! With this racquet, Tecnifibre introduces a new model to the TF40 family. Unlike the original TF40 305 (launched in 2019), this racquet packs a modern 16x19 string pattern, giving it easier access to spin along with a slightly higher launch angle for easier depth. It also has the phenomenal control, pocketing and feel of the first generation TF40s. Although this model is lighter than the TF40 315 (16x19), it packs a higher swingweight (321-RDC), making it slightly better at plowing through the ball or redirecting higher levels of pace. That said, it still has enough speed for whipping up heavy spin, hitting shots on the run or reacting quickly at net. Technologies include a stable RS Sharp beam along with Dynacore XTC for extra touch, dwell time and pocketing. This racquet also has Foam Inside for a more solid feel at impact. Ultimately, with its impressive combination of spin, precision and speed, this is a great option for intermediate and advanced ball strikers. The great feel at impact is a nice bonus.

Comments: Great Racquet. Perfect mix between control and power. Great feeling, also. Best racquet I have ever used and I'm coming from a v7 Blade, Yonex VCore Pro 310 and Wilson Pro Staff.

Comments: This racquet is amazing. I played with a Technifibre racquet during my time as a college athlete and am happy to have found another great Technifibre frame! I've been battling some tennis elbow and this racquet has provided extreme comfort and great playability. I hope they continue to make this frame.

Comments: I have been on a tennis racquet odyssey for many years. Rated 4.0, and topspin is my main weapon. With a natural topspin, I needed control which this racquet does in spades. The comfort is a bonus, swing weight is a breeze, but holds up against heavy hitters. My doubles racquet of choice and the long journey is over. I used 19g poly-poly hybrid. Serves have kick, spin and now placement. I bought two and am enjoying both max control and comfort! I also have two Head Gravity Tours (same specs as TF40) that I use for singles. Tennis Warehouse expert reviews and others were spot on with this racquet and the Gravity Tour. Well done, Tennis Only!

Comments: I love the Tecnifibre TF40 305. It's a nice light frame compared to other 18x20 frames. Very stable when dealing with heavy hitters, or off-center shots. Control is on point, and good access to power when needed. Love it on serve, it allows me really to place the ball where I want without sacrificing power or spin. Groundstrokes felt great, good access to spin, pop and control all in one. I never hit short angle forehands or backhands with so much ease. Also, my one handed backhand has never been better. I also feel very connected to the ball, unlike my frame before this one - the Yonex VCORE PRO HD - where it felt muted. Very connected in terms of feel, drop shots, etc. On volleys, it's awesome and can really drive the ball when needed, but also has the touch and feel for drop volleys. The Tecnifibre TF40 305 is strung with a hybrid of Gamma Live Wire Professional and Tourna Black Zone 58/54. It allows me to really dictate the point with no fear of hitting the ball out with that set up. I am going to buy more of these guys in the future for sure. 5.0 Aggressive Serve & Volley Player.

Comments: I generally play with the Volkl Feel 10 and used to play with the Wilson Pro Staff RF both 16x19 string pattern. I tried the TF40 305 to see how 18x20 played and it is a bit lighter. for a lighter frame it is very stable and has more power than I imagined. It has a very special feel which may be due to the foam in the frame and being a bit more flexible. the beam is bigger and I find myself hitting flatter and smoother with it. I really like it but I am still getting used to it. I use thin strings 20g but get pretty good life out of them, the 18x20 is very nice with thin strings. I lowered the tension a bit. Fun frame for sure.

Comments: The TF40 305 is a great racquet, no vibration, a really solid hitter. Compared to the Wilson Blade, I think it has more power and less vibration. The TF40 315 is a bit heavy in comparison and with less swingweight. I now have two TF40 305 racquets. One has Tecnifibre Razor Code at 48 pounds and one with Solinco Hyper-G Soft at 52 pounds. Next set will be Solinco Hyper-G Soft at 50 pounds. The serve has plenty of plow through and mishits seem to stay in, probably due to frame width, but it is not as wide as the Babolat racquets. I may try some weights at 3 and 9 o'clock to test. Great racquet compared it to the Babolat Pure Strike, Wilson Blade, Wilson Pro Staff, Head Radical Pro 2021.

Comments: This is the most amazing feeling racquet, with laser precision to go with it! It has comfort and stability with controlled power! Strengths are powerful and precise groundstrokes, incredible touch and feel on volleys, slice to die for and huge serves! I have my racquet strong with Ice Code 1.25 at 49 pounds, great ball pocketing and spin. I added a Tourna leather grip and Wilson Pro Overgrip, the racquet is now 5 pts HL with total weight of 11.95 ounces.

Comments: I've been trying different racquets and this Tecnifibre TF40 305 is perfect for me. The weight is perfect and how it controls my forehand stroke. I would recommend it to anyone.
From: Michael, 13/3/21

Comments: Great looking racquet, but not as stable as I was hoping on off-center shots. I'm trying a softer polyester string at a lower tension, and have already added weight at 9 and 3 o'clock positions. I really want this racquet to work for me.
From: Tony, 9/1/210

Comments: After playing with the racquet for about three months, here are my observations. The positives include great feel, control, comfort, and pinpoint accuracy and pop on serves. The main challenge I had with this racquet is with maneuverability, which the TW playtesters also called out. Because it is only 3 points HL in stock form, I had difficulties with reflex volleys at the net. I just felt that I was a bit slow at the net and couldn't get in front of the ball quick enough. However, after adding a leather grip and some weight in the handle, I was able to get the balance to 9 points HL and my overall racquet weight is now at 12.5 ounces. While weight puts this up there with the RF97 Autograph, the weight hasn't been an issue and actually feels rather whippy, which what I was trying to accomplish. With my customization, I'm not sure where I landed on the overall swingweight, but it's probably somewhere in the low 330s. I string it with Solinco Confidential 18 gauge in the mains at 52 pounds. and Head Velocity MLT 16 gauge at 55 for the crosses. The 18 gauge provides for some extra spin, feel, and pop and the thicker 16 gauge helps with durability. I think the TW playtesters' scores are accurate, but I'd probably would score maneuverability an 80 versus 82 and I would bump up topspin from an 83 to an 84, based on my string setup. All in all, a great solid performing racquet.

Comments: I bought the TF40 305. This is the best racquet for me to use. It really gives me, all my power and very low trajectory. But it hurt my elbow, I let It and bought the Pure Strike 16x19 and it's very comfortable but I can't get much power. I came from the Pro Staff 97L. I played with it for one year, it never gave me problems. Now I get and know about all the power with the TF40. I think it's soft but the 18x20 is so tight and it makes the racquet like a rock. It feels excellent until it hurt my elbow. I will go back to the TF40 when I feel recovered and no elbow pain.
From: Luis, 29/9/20

Comments: With a shaped polyester string at 50 pounds and a heavy leather grip, the soft feel and plow through of this frame is up there with the classic Pure Storm or Pure Control, and approaching iPrestige levels for me. Not a lot of free power, but if you're using this you're not looking for that. I am still looking to add weight in the handle to get it whippier through the one handed backhand, but all in all a great starting frame for customization.
From: Sid, 28/10/20

Comments: Lots of controllable power, very good feel and reasonably firm, which I like. Can't tell it is a 18x20, I have been 16x19 all along. The only knock is on occasion, the 305 gram weight is slightly too light for my taste, but really just a personal preference. I would like to try the 315 gram version of this racquet, which interestingly enough, has a lower swingweight.
From: Mark, 14/8/20

Comments: Historically a Pro Staff user I messed around with the Third Generation Pure Strike. However, it gave me arm pain and was far too dampened. I bought one of these a couple weeks ago and it is magical. Admittedly I like using a leather grip, so it ends up being more of a 315. The only downside is if you are used to a 16x19 it will take a little time to get your spin level right, but if you can handle this racquet you will be one happy camper. I will be buying more of these.
From: John, 29/6/20

Comments: Amazing feel and control. My current go-to. Very nice feel and balance.
From: Alex, 27/6/20

Comments: Classic racquet with extreme control. I like the feel. In comparison to Head Speed Pro I received more precision and feel, but less free power and spin. In comparison to the Prestige MP 2020 I received better feel, stability, and comfort. Perfect for flat hitters and those who create spin by themselves. I am using Ice Code at 47 pounds.
From: Ivan, 26/6/20

Comments: The best racquet ever. I have been looking for my new racquet from the Wilson Pro Staff 97. I tried Babolat and Yonex, both are great. Based on critic and customer reviews, I decided to try out the racquet. I love it. I use Gamma Synthetic Gut 1.25 and Weiss Cannon in principals. I strung this racquet at 52 pounds on the mains and 48 pounds on the crosses, it's pure butter with the best control. I really recommend It.
From: Luna, 24/6/20

Comments: This may be my new go-to racquet. I've been playing with the Pro Staff RF97 since it came out in 2014 and still love it, but I'm also getting great results and comfort with my new lighter and flexier TF40 305. I weighted it up to be just over 12 ounces with lead at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock and under the grip, which raised the swingweight to about 337 and balance to 4 points headlight. I'm really liking the plush control of the 18x20 string pattern especially on serves, slice backhands, and volleys. Even with all the added lead it's lighter weight, as compared to my RF97, allows me snappier racquet head speed for more direction and pop on serves. I have it strung with Kirschbaum Pro Line II 1.20mm on the mains at 46 pounds and Kirschbaum Pro Line II Rough 1.20mm in crosses at 44 pounds.
From: Joe, 11/6/20

Comments: I did not appreciate or understand what great feel in a racquet meant until now. The connection to the ball with the TF40 is sensational while having all the control you want. Good power as well when committing with full strokes. Wicked slice available on the backhand. An all around gem. I am a 4.0 player and have my TF40 strung at 50 pounds with Cyclone Tour. Demo it if you can.
From: Anthony, 16/5/20

Comments: Best racquet I have ever used. It has all in it. Very nice blend of control and power. Nice spin potential. Feel from this racquet is excellent. I have used Speed Pro, Textreme Tour, Pure Drive, Aero Pro Drive, Pro Staff, Blade, Clash, it beats everything in almost all departments except spin when compared to Babolat. I would definitely recommend for a demo. Most of you will be really surprised with the racquet's excellent potential.
From: Suresh, 25/3/20

Comments: This is a great racquet! I played a match with a 4.5 player, I can return groundstrokes very well against him with this racquet. It has power, spin, touch, angles, confident hitting backhand deep cross court or down the line. It is amazing, I can hit with a lot of pace. An incredible racquet.
From: Dat, 13/12/19

Comments: This racquet can do it all. A wonderful offering from Tecnifibre. The dense string pattern creates a wonderful spin potential even though the launch angle is a bit lower then a 16x19 pattern. The blend of power and control is simply magnificent, and the feel of the ball pocketing is like no other racquet that I've tried before. I highly recommended it for players who can produce their own power and spin, and are looking for some great control and plush feel to get their game to the next level. Nothing bad to say about this racquet. It's a must demo for every tennis player out there that is after a control-oriented racquet. I'm a 4.0 player. I strung the racquet with Volkl Cyclone 18 gauge at 50 pounds string tension.
From: Matan, 11/12/19

Comments: My contender for racquet of the year. This racquet is outstanding from all areas of the court. It's surprisingly stable for its weight and comfortable even with a full bed of poly. It's superior to the likes of the Blade and Pure Strike in my opinion. Tecnifibre makes some amazing racquets and I hope more people will give it a chance. I'm currently playing with the Blade 98 18x20, but I will be making the switch to the TF40.
From: E, 21/11/19

Comments: A real solid offering from Tecnifibre. Great feel, control, power even with the slightly firm feel. I can see why TW gave this frame such great reviews. Coming from the Wilson Blade 98 v7, Tecnifibre has Wilson beat in overall playability in my opinion.
From: Ken, 17/11/19

Comments: Best feeling racquet since the 93P. Amazing feel and accuracy. Added a leather grip, 9 grams in the handle with a head butt cap fits that fits, and some lead at 3 and 9. Serves great, amazing at the net.
From: Steven, 9/11/19

Comments: Sensational racquet. Great feeling and control.
